Cardi is genuinely loved by the DJ community so she’ll always have organic support there. BUT! As a music lover and fan… we got some things going on…

Bongos didn’t do as well because it was TOO close to WAP. Almost a copy and paste in content/shock value of the content, the visuals, etc., so everyone literally had a “been there, heard that” mindset about it.

The songs that followed were just cool. A serious rebrand may be in order… everything you mentioned is spot on.

The East isn’t really trending right now. And that can change at any minute to be honest, but the West and the South are up right now. Lyrically women are offering fades and getting money there lol, while still boasting about being fine. The music is offering more and is simply more fun.

Either way, I hope her team gets her right.

*gives standing ovation* ALL OF THIS. Emphasis on "the songs that followed were just cool." 'Invasion of Privacy" was great because it gave us different sides of Cardi: basking in her accomplishments, the struggle she grew up in, being grateful for blessings, even being vulnerable with the man she loved. She hasn't shown any growth since and again, we're seven years out. Since this album, she's become a mother, married Offset, experienced being cheated on in the public eye, and now - the divorce. So many topics to touch on, but all that's being talked about is WAP....Her audience changed, but she hasn't.
